My name is Becky Springer and it is my pleasure to serve as the DeKalb County Treasurer. I hold a Bachelor's degree in Economics from Northern Illinois University and previously worked in banking before being appointed DeKalb County Treasurer. The Treasurer’s office collects, invests, and distributes more than $218 million in property taxes each year. Property tax funds are distributed to more than 186 taxing districts in the county. Tax Distribution reports for each distribution to those districts are available on our website, dekalbcounty.org. Paying property taxes and making inquiries are now easier than ever. We launched the online application wEdge in 2018 allowing for online property tax payments and inquiries from the same program. Taxpayers can pay online with credit cards, debit cards, and electronic checks through wEdge. Citizens, taxing bodies, attorneys, title companies, mortgage companies, and others are all able to now have property tax information at their fingertips 24/7. We also launched the DeKalb County Treasurer’s Property Tax Helpline (815) 895-7337. Callers will be directly connected with the department who can best answer their questions. |
