Hello and thank you for visiting the Rock Island County Treasurer's page on the Illinois County Treasurers' Association website!
The Treasurer's Office provides many important services for taxpayers and taxing bodies alike. Among other duties, the Treasurer is responsible for billing and collecting property taxes, and managing & investing public monies. Visit the official Rock Island County Treasurer's website to view your property tax information, check exemptions that can lower your taxes, and pay your property taxes online, among other services.

Real Estate Property Tax Payments:
The Rock Island County Collector will mail real estate tax bills on or before May 16, 2025. Online payments will be accepted after that date.
Due Dates for the 2024 Real Estate Taxes, payable in 2025 are as follows:

1st Installment: Wednesday, June 18, 2025.

2nd Installment: Monday, August 18, 2025.
-
3rd Installment: Thursday, September 18, 2025.
-
4th Installment: Tuesday, November 18, 2025.
Mobile Home Tax Payments:
Mobile Home Taxes are due on Friday, July 18, 2025.
Taxes not paid by July 18, 2025, will be charged $25 per month in interest, up to $100.
Options for Paying Your Real Estate Property Taxes or Mobile Home Taxes:
At your bank/credit union: Click here for details and a list of banks and credit unions that accept property tax payments on our behalf through November 18, 2025. Bring your entire bill with stubs. No credit/debit cards.
By mail: Send your check with the payment stub to the Rock Island County Collector, PO Box 3277, Rock Island, IL 61204-3277. Mailed payments must be postmarked on or before the due date to avoid penalty. Click here for more details about paying by mail.
At our office: Pay in-person at the Rock Island County Office Building, 1504 3rd Avenue, Rock Island, IL 61201. We accept cash, check, cashier’s check or money order. For your convenience: we accept in-person credit/debit cards and mobile wallets (processing fees up to 2.45% apply*) through November 18, 2025. No personal or business checks are accepted after November 25, 2024. Click here for more details about paying in-person at the Treasurer’s Office.
Drive-up Drop Box: Drop an envelope with your payment & stub inside the box located in the alley/parking lot behind the County Office Building.
Online: Pay using e-check, debit/credit card or mobile wallet (processing fees apply*) by clicking here. You can also enroll in automatic payments and email reminders.
By phone: Dial 309-518-9200 and pay using e-check, debit or credit card (processing fees apply*). Se habla español.

2.45% Credit/Debit Card and Mobile Wallet processing fee (or $2.00 for transactions under $82.00).

Note: processing/convenience fees are not charged by the Rock Island County Treasurer’s Office; it is the fee of the third-party credit card processor.
Escrow payments: If your mortgage company is to pay the bill, it may be indicated in the shaded area of each stub on your tax bill, or it is your responsibility to forward a copy to the mortgage company for payment. Click here for more details about escrow/mortgage company payments.
NOTE:

Tax installments must be paid in sequence order on or before the due dates listed to avoid interest penalty.

Shortly after the fourth installment is due (approximately the first week of December), you will receive a certified notice of delinquency and publishing in the newspaper for any amounts owed with an additional fee of $10. Read such notices carefully to pay.
Delinquent Taxes and Tax Sale:
Any real estate property or mobile home that has outstanding taxes owed as of December 8, 2025, will be sent a certified notice, published in the local newspapers, and charged an additional $10 fee.
The last day that real estate property and mobile home taxes can be paid in the Treasurer’s Office is December 29, 2025. Tax bills for the current year not paid by December 29, 2025, will be sold at the annual Tax Sale. The annual Tax Sale will take place on December 30, 2025.
